The Port of Kirkwall, Orkney has launched a new cruise information website www.cruise-orkney.com. Apart from the publishing of the cruise ship lists present and future on the marine services website orkneyharbours.com, there has, up to now, been no other central point of pre arrival information for cruise ship passengers and crew arriving in Orkney.
This aim of this site is to provide passengers and crew and cruise line representatives with pre arrival information on the destination, in particular on shuttle bus operations, shopping and local transport information and other useful points about which we constantly receive email and telephone call enquiries.
The website will be an evolving site, and the Harbour Authority will react positively to comments and feedback on how it can be improved and developed;
The Kirkwall Business Improvement District (BID) has a direct link from this site to give passengers and crew information on local retail therapy and opportunity; this concept will be developed also for Stromness and other areas of Orkney.
